Cardiovalve is a novel system
for treating mitral regurgitation
The Cardiovalve device is a novel bio-prosthesis designed to improve blood flow coming from the heart, implanted using a transcatheter technique. Physicians deliver Cardiovalve with a catheter, or tube, introduced through the leg vein in the groin area. Once the Cardiovalve is in place, it is expanded and immediately takes over as a new functional valve. Cardiovalve may offer the possibility for treatment of MR and its symptoms without the need for open-heart surgery.
